(St. Catharines, June 26th, 2007) – Troy Western is coming to S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival on July 22nd and the Town Theatre this Saturday, June 30th.  The engaging singer-songwriter will first be offering his blend of pop-folk-rock this Saturday at the old TOWN THEATRE, 280 St. Paul Street, St. Catharines, a venue with a rich entertainment history as a performance hall, movie cinema, and more.  On Saturday, July 22nd, Troy will be performing at the 12th annual S.C.E.N.E. MUSIC FESTIVAL, one of the largest independent music festivals in Canada.

Troy’s lush, melodic phrasing and penetrating, thought-provoking lyrics give rise to his growing popularity as a singer-songwriter.  This Saturday, the TOWN THEATRE offers a welcomed opportunity to a “home town” fan base to experience a full set of Troy’s acoustic-based music.  Troy will take the stage at approximately 9 p.m. and will close the show, preceded by Silver Condition and Aimie Page.  Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

The 12th annual S.C.E.N.E. MUSIC FESTIVAL will have a taste of Troy’s grooves as it hostsover 145 bands on Saturday, July 22nd across several venues in downtown St. Catharines.  This year’s festival includes performances by Bedouin Soundclash, Casey Baker, as well as Troy’s friends and fellow indie musicians Jason Maillard, Mandippal Jandu, and Bramwell & The Leftovers.  The 2007 S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival truly captures and celebrates the independent spirit of music, featuring over 145 bands, 16 stages, 13 venues, and 2 free CDs highlighting featured S.C.E.N.E. artists.

In the past year, Troy Western has earned a nomination in the 2006 Toronto Independent Music Awards, as well as winning the Featured Artist for May 2006 as voted by his fans on BreakingLocals.com, a website devoted to bands and fans of all music genres across the world.  Most recently, he has played the SAMMY SUGAR DAY FESTIVAL in Toronto, as well as the HIGHLAND CREEK HERITAGE FESTIVAL in Scarborough, Ontario.  Troy has also played several respected venues covering Toronto to the Niagara Region, such as The Cameron House, Holy Joe’s, Renaissance Café (Toronto), The Merchant Ale House, Port Mansion Theatre (St. Catharines), as well as the Oh! Canada Eh? Theatre (Niagara Falls).  Troy existed over 4000 years ago and is known as the centre of ancient civilizations, made famous by Homer’s account of the Trojan War.
